Bible garden

Bible garden

Genesis 2:9
"Out of the ground the Lord God caused to grow every tree that is pleasing to the sight and good for food."

The dream was to incorporate many of the plants mentioned in the Bible along with water and other features, which tell the story of the Bible in a visual and creative way. A winding walkway was created from the main car park through a walled garden that brings you on a sensory and visual journey through the Bible from Eden to the new Creation.

There are over 100 plants mentioned in the Bible and many of them are either natural to the region or flourish here due to the similarity in climate and soil which the Algarve shares with the Holy Land. We would encourage you to walk through the garden as a time of spiritual preparation when you come to our worship services.

Everyone is welcome to come into the Garden at any time dying the day to pray, meditate on God and His wonderful creation, or just escape the confusion of the world outside.

It is our desire that this space will be used to help people reflect on the panoramic story of the Bible, but most importantly experience a special encounter with God as they reflect on His creation and the lessons that the Word of God teaches us through all the references to plants and nature that are mentioned so many times in the Bible.

If you would like more information about the Garden speak to Matthew Forman - (Site Manager) - There is also a print out of a map of the Garden with all the Plants found in the garden and the Scripture references where you can find them in the Bible.
